Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the wear of posterior full crowns fabricated from 3D printing restorative resin PriZma Bio Crown (Maquira Makertech).
Methods: Prospective longitudinal clinical study. Sample: 50 posterior full crown restorations. Intraoral scans will be performed immediately after cementation, at one month, six months, and one year. Wear quantification will be performed by superimposition of STL files obtained by intraoral scanning. Evaluation will be carried out by at least two independent previously calibrated examiners using ExoCAD software. The project will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry, UdelaR, prior to patient recruitment.
Expected Results: The data obtained will be compared with reference values available in the literature for milled CAD/CAM PMMA and milled indirect composite resin. It is hypothesized that the wear of the evaluated 3D resin will be lower than that of PMMA and higher than that of milled indirect composite resin, based on the compositional properties of each material. The present study aims to initiate a clinical research line, generating primary evidence to enable the future design of controlled clinical trials.
